Equine Explorers: Horses & Nature for Home Educated Children
Flexible Outdoor Learning and Equine Connection for Ages 8–11
Step into a world where learning comes alive through nature, imagination, and connection with horses.
Equine Explorers is created especially for home-educated children aged 8–11. Rooted in the principles of equine-assisted learning and nature-based education, this immersive experience blends practical skills, emotional development, and creative exploration in a fun, supportive, and inspiring environment.
Each week, children are invited to slow down, tune in, and engage with the world around them through hands-on activities, time with horses, and outdoor adventures.
Whether we're tracking animal signs, building dens, learning to lead a pony, or exploring group dynamics through playful challenges, the natural world becomes our classroom—and the horses, our wise and gentle teachers.
Our sessions focus on building confidence, self-awareness, empathy, and teamwork, while also encouraging curiosity, resilience, and a love for the outdoors.
What to Expect Each Week:
-
Equine-assisted learning (no riding, just connection and communication)
-
Outdoor games and nature-based exploration
-
Creative activities and bushcraft
-
Emotional literacy and teamwork skills
-
Mindful moments and quiet reflection
-
A safe and inclusive space to grow, play, and connect
Children will learn about themselves, others, and the natural world in a way that feels engaging, grounded, and meaningful.
What Parents Are Saying
“My daughter absolutely loved every session. She came home glowing—muddy, happy, and full of stories about what she’d done with the horses and all the exploring. I noticed such a boost in her confidence, especially in how she relates to others and expresses her feelings. It’s such a nurturing, thoughtful space.”
— Lucy, parent of 9-year-old
“This programme has been a breath of fresh air for our son. He’s always been curious but struggled in more traditional settings. Sessions gave him space to be himself, learn through doing, and form a real connection with the horses. He felt safe, seen, and excited to come back every week. We couldn’t recommend it more.”
— James, parent of 8-year-old
